Alternative control practices:

Chemical: basal bark, cut stubble, cut stump, foliar

Mechanical: forestry mower, light mower,  chainsaw, clearing saw

Rx fire: seedlings highly susceptible, adults negatively-impacted  

Biocontrol: grazing offers limited control

Note: Alternative control practices often cause suckering.
