Distribution and Commonness: wide-spread, common
Habitat: especially problematic in moist soils, full-sun to moderate shade
Growth Form: clonal shrub
Common Vector: waterflow, suckering
Notes: Control practices often cause suckering. Very difficult to control without considerable damage to natural community. DLS has achieved 100% control using Imazapyr.

Chemical: Typical herbicides have limited effectiveness. foliar, basal bark, wick
Mechanical: forestry mower, light mower, brushcutter
Rx fire: seedlings highly susceptible, limited negative impact to adults
